The Village hosts a major Pride festival every year at the end of August, during which the entire region of town is transformed into a festival scene. The event includes a candlelight vigil, an expo and an enormous colourful parade that starts on Liverpool Road, travels along Deansgate and finishes on Fairfield Street just outside of the Gay Village.
