Manchester’s Gay Village Rental Apartments

Nights Out and Weekend Breaks in Manchester’s Gay Village

Manchester is known for being a very gay-friendly and liberal-minded city and is one of the “Big Three” sexual diversity cities in the UK along with London and Brighton. Since the beginning of the 1990s, the area around Canal Street has grown to become one of the most-lively gay areas in Europe and is now known as the Gay Village. Take a stroll through this beautiful pedestrianised street, which runs along the west side of the Rochdale Canal and soak up the happy and welcoming atmosphere.

While the Village is a popular nightlife area filled with gay bars, it is welcoming to people of all sexual orientations. The area is also popular with heterosexuals party animals because of the many great bars and live music venues and the fun laid-back atmosphere. Many of the bars are open until 5am or later and host DJs and theme nights. No matter who you are or who you love, you will be welcome to shop, dine, socialise and dance the night away here.

The Village hosts a major Pride festival every year at the end of August, during which the entire region of town is transformed into a festival scene. The event includes a candlelight vigil, an expo and an enormous colourful parade that starts on Liverpool Road, travels along Deansgate and finishes on Fairfield Street just outside of the Gay Village. Book your accommodations early during the festival, it’s a very popular event.
Whether you are attending the Pride festival, enjoying the LGBT friendly nightlife or simply drinking in the culture of this part of town, our holiday rentals are a great place to stay in the Manchester Gay Village. You’ll also be within walking distance from the city centre and close to the Piccadilly Gardens and Piccadilly Station Metrolink tram stations - making it easy to explore all Manchester has to offer.
